Destinations
Of the Month

Hanoi
has shaken off its hostile attitude to travelers to become
one of the most beguiling cities in Southeast Asia. It's
slow-paced and pleasant, with a lovely landscape of lakes,
shaded boulevards, verdant public parks and
French-colonial architecture. Hanoi is divided into four
main districts, or quan named Hoan Kiem District, Ba Dinh
District, Hai Ba Trung District, Dong Da District. Getting
around Hanoi on foot can be tiring, so if you intend to
stick within the Old Quarter or elsewhere in Hoan Kiem
District, break up your walks with a cyclo ride or two.
During the festival of Tet, the lunar New Year,
accommodations are scarce; and museums, offices, and shops
tend to close for days at a time.
